Royal Haskoning and Atrion International Form a Five-Year Partnership to Become the Acknowledged Leader in Providing Global Compliance Management Activities

Nijmegen, The Netherlands, June 4, 2003 – Royal Haskoning and Atrion International have signed a fiveyear partnership agreement to provide a more comprehensive Global Compliance Management solution to the market. The partnership will combine the expertise of Royal Haskoning’s environmental division (tracking and interpreting regulatory information) with that of Atrion International, a leading developer of materials compliance products. Through the initial phases of the agreement, Atrion International and Royal Haskoning will jointly create a Data Factory that will house both companies’ physical, chemical, toxicological and regulatory data, which have undergone stringent quality assurance.

The data repository will be jointly managed, operated and quality-assured by both groups. Subsequent phases will address the integration of additional services to leverage each company’s strengths to continuously provide more comprehensive and stronger offerings to the market.

Mr. Hans Rijntalder, Director Business Group Environmental Management said: “Atrion has been a strategic partner of Royal Haskoning’s since 1998 when it acquired our Rosetta Business Unit.” He added, “We have seen Atrion grow and become a dominant player in the Materials Compliance field. The next step of integrating our content with their offering, using human resources from both Companies, will provide both groups with a value-added solution for our respective clients.”

This will ensure that Atrion’s platform offering (rules, content and applications) will continue to provide our clients with the tools they need to meet their global materials compliance requirements.”
