Atrion introduces Regionally-focused User Group Meetings in 2006.

Montreal, August 1st, 2006 – This year, Atrion's International User Group Conference was replaced with smaller, focused two-day Regional User Group meetings addressing specific European and North American regulatory issues. The meetings were held in Copenhagen, Denmark on May 30th and 31st and in Houston, Texas from June 7th to 8th 2006.

Highlights of the 2006 meetings included the launch of Intelligent Authoring® & Document Manager v.3.4 with a tour of new features and functionalities such as new sentence component functionality, export/reports, ISS maker and more. A sneak preview of the Intelligent Authoring v.4.0 scope, highlighted the data gathering process as well as criteria of measurement. An optional Training session was also added this year for the convenience of Atrion’s clients.

Comments from the IUG Board members included Donna Newhouse, Team Leader-Hazard Communication, Americas at Huntsman Corporation, who confirmed that the regional approach was a great way to promote the exchange of regional issues and further enabled the Atrion customer community as a whole. Other IUG Board members such as Peter Goddard, Yara International’s, Head of Product Classification and Regulations, applauded the active role taken by the Board and Atrion in determining ideas and programs to reflect customer needs. Robert Coolen, Regulatory Environment Masterfile, Europe for Enthone BV, felt it was very timely for the meetings to include in-depth sessions on new and upcoming global legislation such as REACH, (Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals) and GHS, the Globally Harmonized System for classification and labeling of chemicals.

After an overall success, the new Regional User Group meeting approach was adopted, with the larger, International User Group Meeting to be held in the future on a bi-yearly basis. Join Atrion for the next IUG, coming September 2007, in Montreal, Quebec. It will be held immediately preceding and in conjunction with ChemCon Americas 2007. More details will be communicated soon.
